Boss happy with Aquilani

Aquilani made his first Premiership start on Boxing Day and the boss was pleased with the way he handled it.

"Aquilani was okay. He was trying to be involved, trying to receive the ball and pass the ball," said Benitez.

"The match fitness is something that will improve with games and the Premier League is also difficult so he'll settle down little by little.

"Mascherano is not available for three or four games so maybe Aquilani will have more time."
