When I think of all the glorious times from a youth growing up in Liverpool to present day, Anfield has been at the heart of most of them.

Also the most saddest moments evolve around it to take it away from where it stands now would be (in my opinion) like desecrating somebody’s resting place. how could it ever be called Anfield again if it was moved. I understand that the club want more fans to bring in more money, but if man utd, Newcastle , Chelsea can develop their grounds then surely we can do the same. this is much more than just a ground to most of us. the following words are to the tune of the Beatles' 'Let it be'.

When I'm feeling down in times of trouble
golden memories come to me
memories from Anfield, let it be.

I close my eyes and there is Shankly
standing right in front of me
the ‘great man’ built this empire, let it be.

Let it be, let it be, let it be, oh let it be
coz Anfield is forever let it be.

And through the years this sacred place
has seen such fun and tragedy
tears of joy and sadness, let it be.

This isn’t just a home for football
it's so much more to folk like me
for all those dear departed, let it be.

Let it be, let it be, let it be oh let it be
coz Anfield is forever let it be.

I hear the roar of days gone by
which echo through eternity
for all those past and present, let it be.

From boot room days to corporate ways
this place is steeped in history
long live fortress Anfield, let it be.

Let it be, let it be, let it be oh let it be
this is fortress Anfield, let it be.

And in my final hours
when the holy spirit comes for me
looking down at Anfield’s where I’ll be.

Reunited with my father
all my friends and family
let us rest in peace there, let us be.

Let us be, let us be, let us be oh let us be
coz Anfield is forever, let us be.
