Liverpool take on Manchester City tonight in the first leg of the Carling Cup semi-final, two games away from a trip to Wembley against either Cardiff City or Crystal Palace.

Unbelievably it's been 16 years since our last trip to Wembley, when the 'Spice Boys' famously walked out in white suits and left in defeat to Manchester United.

We may have made the Millennium Stadium our second home from 2001 to 2006, with seven trips to Cardiff in that period, but its about time we returned to Wembley.

In his time at Liverpool Kenny Dalglish has won every domestic competition with the exception of the League Cup and in the absence of European football this season he has made it a priority to put that right.

Liverpool have won the League Cup a record seven times, from 10 finals. It's time to make it eight and return to winning ways at Anfield South.
